Google is like Chuck Norris

I’m sure you’ve been following the recent news regarding the U.S. Justice Department trying to subpeona various search engines for information to help their case regarding the Online Child Pornography Act. In a nutshell, the U.S. Justice Department tried to subpeona various search engines for information to help their case regarding the Online Child Pornography Act. Out of the larger search engines, Google appears to be the only one that has put up a fight. AOL, Microsoft and Yahoo all responded quickly to the request and gave up the information requested.

This article talks about how Google has responded with a big F-U to the JD and has taken the side of its customers and their privacy (and their trade secrets, of course).

Google, as they get larger and create more products that collect more sensitive information about its users has been getting lots of bad press about how their “Do No Evil” motto may be a farce. Despite these nay-sayers some of us have been naively following Google around like the pied piper, enamored with their sexy software and colorful name, full of trust and love for the gentle giant.

Now it looks like it’s paid off to show a little love and trust. Granted, this is one of the first of many tests Google will be facing to prove its loyalty, but I’m feeling better about my choice.

So why is Google like Chuck Norris? Because they both kick serious ass and will fight for the “little guy”. Thanks Chuck. And thank you too, Google.

Kick ass blog title and very right on!

So - yesterday they (the new gig) “asked” me if I want to get my MS certs… to which, in my policial way, I replied “well, I don’t really like MS but, if it’ll help Ascentium, sure”. :) I mean - these people redifine sucking dick… it’s appalling the kiss assing going on. MS, of course, throws us more sales the more we play the game. It makes me ill (in the best possible way).

I’m more and more coninved that trying to make money writing core development tools is a bad thing. It mixes all the wrong ingredients… kind of like Republicans and politics. Or Chuck Norris and anyone who thinks they can fight.

Chuck Norris doesn’t need to make any more movies. He’s already made all the movies that ever need to be made.
