I did the same thing... why the hell do motorcycles have Park anyhow? I bought a second KLR650 which I'm keeping at my dads place in Denver to do the $200 fly and ride option... because, well, CO rocks for Motorcycle mayhem. We're out in Moab, Utah riding Canyonlands this week - unbelievable (been here many times, but on a motorcycle... even better).

One thing you might want to get for your bike (depending on how hard it is to get to the battery) is a charger that comes with an extension... so you don't have to dismantle to get at the battery. I use the Battery Tender Plus (easy to google). If you don't have a garage this is mandatory for winter - as your battery will die in the cold if you don't ride every couple of weeks.
