Trek to Alaska

Erin (from my dojo) and her husband are trekking to the Aleutian Islands by foot, packraft, and skis. They’re already on day 14 and in Bellingham. They will be heading for Canada next. They trip is meant to raise awareness for the state of wilderness. They’ve already gotten a bunch of press.

Since today’s my birthday, I was looking for places to get free food and free stuff. It was surprisingly hard to find. But I managed to pull together a pretty decent list of places to get something free.

30 years

This week I”m turning 30 so we threw a big bash. Theme was cuban. We ate cuban pork sandwiches, rice, beans, tostones, maduros, mojitos, etc. About 40-50 people showed up and stuck it out through the rain showers. Most of all, I had a great time.
