Hi, my name is Stan, and I knit
When I decided to knit some presents for Christmas this year, I thought I was alone. There were no support groups, nobody to tell me that it’s OK for guys to knit. To pick up those needles and that wonderfully soft chenille yarn was a true test of my manhood. When I finished my first washcloth and my testicles hadn’t shriveled up, I was pretty psyched. Not only did it impress my girlfriend, but it seems ALL the girls were up on it.
So guys, if you really want to impress the ladies, show ‘em you can purl like an 80 year-old woman. That’s fucking manly.
Here’s an article from Reuter’s about men knitting in NY:

Pretty soon, you’ll be up to cable-knit sweaters.
And in case you care, in my elementary school even the boys had to knit mittens to pass the 4th grade. I find it mildly entertaining that it is “all the rage” for anyone to be knitting these days. I knit, but that is because I had to pass the 4th grade.
(and yeah, I did go to a bit of a crunchy type elementary school)
